Consideration of national interest

Former Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru said, “The US foreign policy is always changing.” The outgoing US Ambassador Dan Mozena’s latest statement about the demand for mid-term election in Bangladesh is the reflection thereof. He said, “It is Bangladesh’s internal affairs.”
On the other hand, the Indian foreign policy is rigid. The unremitting killing of the Bangladeshi nationals near the international borders is the testimony thereof. Whichever party forms government in New Delhi, it takes time to issue any statement about the previous government’s foreign policy as we see now.
About the Chinese foreign policy, it is difficult to say in which direction the second largest economy of the world is going. And of Russia, the present government appears to have been working to bring back the Soviet Union
But the smaller nations find it hard to formulate an independent foreign policy because the bigger nations try to dominate them (smaller nations) in their (bigger nations’) interests. Individual nation’s interest dominates the history of nations.
