Stop polluting river waters
I feel very sad when see that country’s major rivers are carrying dirty and polluted waters. Bangladesh is a riverine country. But in fact, river water pollution has appeared to be a severe problem for the country.
A few days ago, I visited Birulia village of Savar union where I went through the waterways boarding an engine boat. During my journey I saw the misery of Turag river. Most of the river banks have encroached by the influential persons while waste water coming from adjacent mills and factories have made the water stinky and highly polluted.

The Prime Minister recently has urged all, particularly mills and factories, to stop discharging wastes into rivers. She also had put emphasis on dredging the rivers regularly for maintaining their water flow and enhancing their water-holding capacities.
I hope, the authorities concerned will take necessary initiatives to make our rivers pollution free.
