The lost glory of Dhaka Wanderers
Once Dhaka Football’s power house Wanderers Club became champions for the last time in 1960, finishing one point more than Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club. The other teams in the league were Pakistan PWD, Azad Sporting Club, DC Mills, Central Stationery, East Pakistan Police, East Pakistan Rifles, Wari Club, East End Club and BG Press.
Many of these clubs have departed from the soccer arena for various reasons. But the absence of five times Senior Division football League champions Dhaka Wanderers Club is a tragedy in the club’s history.
In this backdrop, we shall request all those who once patronized the club to bring life in the club to remind the present generation about soccer’s past glory in this country.
