Bangabandhu Cup
The Bangabandhu Cup Football 2017 will be held in Dhaka next month with eight national teams, including the hosts. We do not know their names since the Bangladesh Football Federation maintains mystery about identity.
In this connection, we like to say that the federation should try for the Olympic squads, if it is not possible to convince the federations of Iran, Iraq, Japan and South Korea, the four Asian power houses, to send their World Cup squads.
We think there is no need of a tournament with those teams who are equal to us in skills and technique. If our footballers want to improve their stamina and mental strength, they should play with superior players.
We know that the Japan Football Federation organises an annual international soccer tournament ‘Kirin Cup’ with teams from Europe and South America. The tournament has helped Japan win the Asia Cup highest four times so far though their success in the Kirin Cup has been barren.
We believe that the Bangladesh Football Federation will leave no stone unturned to make the tournament successful.

Recommission Green Arrow
Railway Minister Mujibul Haque reopened 60 of the 188 closed stations on Thursday to fulfill the given promise and added that the government would not overlook the weight of the remaining closed stations. Of the reopened 60 railway stations, 23 are in Paksey division, 21 in Dhaka division, 12 in Chittagong division and four in Lalmonirhat division.
Railway is recognised as the key in the communication sector throughout the world because a train can transport highest number of passengers and maximum goods in a single trip. That is why every country pays utmost attention to the development of railway. Happily the present government has responded to that inevitability and taken measure to make the railway both profitable and serviceable.
In this connection, we shall request the government to recommission the ‘Green Arrow’, once fastest train of the country, running between Dhaka and Chittagong. It was all on a sudden withdrawn from the track after independence without showing any reason.
