Poor football
Bangladesh League Champions Abahani Limited lost to Maldives representative Maziya Sports and RC 0-2 in their first match of the AFC Cup 2017 last week. The defeat gives an indication that the country’s soccer upheaval will continue many more days despite BFF’s basket of promises to come back.
One of the reasons of our adversities in soccer is when the rest of the world has been progressing fast, we have been hovering in the mirage, as we have no feasible plan.
The second reason is that we hardly search for talents at the grassroots level. The inter-school football, the inter-college football, the inter-department football at the university and the inter-university football are not organised at all or arranged at a long distance. As a result, sports oriented boys and girls turn their faces to either facebook or to other discipline like cricket.
It was thought after Brazil’s nuclear holocaust like commotion in the 2014 World Cup Football and two subsequent Copa America Cups that Brazil ‘s soccer future finally crashed. But proper selection of coaches has begun to show the nation their magnificent days of football. The Olympic gold in soccer, which Brazil never won before 2016, has already been won. Now the regaining of World Cup remains.
Will the BFF take lessons from Brazil?
