RCCI Public School and College (Rangpur) emerged champions in the First Security Islami Bank U-20 Men’s College Rugby competition beating Adamji Cantonment College by 5-0 points in the extra golden time held on Saturday at Physical Education College Ground in the city’s Mohammadpur.
The match rolled into an extra golden time after the regulation time ended in a 0-0 points draw.
First Security Islami Bank senior executive vice president Masudur Rahman Shah was the chief guest in the final and distributed the prizes.
Bangladesh Rugby Union (BRU) general secretary Moushum Ali, BRU joint general secretary Sayed Ahmed, BRU members Sirajul Islam and Deen Islam, were among others, present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, Saint Gregory High School finished third beating Narayanganj College by 24-0 points in the placed deciding match.
Mahridi Islam Nirmoy of Adamji Cantonment College was named the best player of the competition for his impressive performance throughout the competition.
