RCC will vaccinate 41263 children against measles and rubella

All children Rangpur of the City Corporation (RCC) area 41 thousand 273 children will be vaccinated against measles and rubella, said panel mayor Mahmudur RahmanTitu. He said, “From December 12 to January 24, children in 18 risky areas, including369 centers in wards 18 to 30 of Rangpur city, will be vaccinated against measles and rubella.
The vaccination will be given to 41,263 children through 160 volunteers and vaccinators.
He was speaking at a press briefing on the occasion of the measles-rubella vaccination campaign at the Rangpur City Corporation meeting room on Thursday (December 10th) at noon.
The panel mayor called on parents to use face masks to take their children to the nearest EPI or designated immunization center to be vaccinated against measles and rubella.
“Measles and rubella are serious viral infections,” he said. These two diseases usually spread rapidly through the sneezing and coughing of one patient to the other. Measles and rubella can affect people of any age except children.
However, the incidence, complications and risk of death are higher in children.Panel Mayor Titu said, ‘Measles can lead to complications of pneumonia, diarrhea, malnutrition, encephalitis, blindness and deafness. For this, all children from 9 months to 10 years of age should be vaccinated against measles and rubella. This tick has no side effects.
But under no circumstances can a sick child be vaccinated against measles and rubella.
‘The vaccine will be given every week except Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and public holidays.
If any child becomes ill after receiving the vaccine at this time, the parents should contact the nearest health center or the city corporation including the hospital without any panic.
