RCC implements Tk 427.31cr projects

Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has been implementing five major projects involving Taka 427.31 crore at present aims at bringing a qualitative change particularly in the field of infrastructural and environmental elevation in the metropolis.
The projects are infrastructural development, city bhaban construction, midtown road widening, east-west connecting road and drainage.
The city corporation has also planned three other major projects at an estimated cost of around Taka 800 crore which are in the pipeline at present.
City Mayor Mosaddeque Hossain Bulbul revealed this at a press conference to mark his one-year of office held at the city bhaban here today (Wednesday) describing his various other uplift visions and missions.
“We are committed to build the city planned way for improving living and livelihood condition of the citizens. We need full-length support of the government for successful implementation of the adopted projects,” he added.
As per the commitment of making the city green, clean and healthy, all the projects will implemented in planned way.
Mayor Bulbul said constructions of at least three multi-storied commercial buildings are expected to be completed by next June. Those will contribute to boost the city’s revenue earning.
“We are planning to enhance the area of revenue collection to meet up our expenditure. Mobile towers will be brought under the city tax network,” Bulbul added.
“It is one of my biggest challenges to create jobs for the unemployed youths or to help them find works.” He sought cooperation of all, irrespective of their political affiliations and ideologies in this regard.
Bulbul called for launching city governor system as early as possible and bringing all the service-delivery institutions like Rajshahi WASA, RDA, Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, Department of Roads and Highway, Department Public Health Engineering and Local Government Engineering Department under the system for proper coordination and successful implementation of the projects.
“We have no way but to promote the system for making all the service delivery activities like infrastructural development, water, health and sanitation more effective and people-oriented,” he defined.
Panel Mayors Anwarul Azim, Nuruzzaman Tito and Nurun Nahar Begum, Chief Executive Officer Ajahar Ali, Secretary Masuduzzaman, Chief Revenue Officer Syeda Zebinnissa Sultana and others officers concerned were present at the press conference.
