A Sylhet court extended the investigation period for a month (30 working days) in a case filed over the custodial death of Rayhan Ahmed.
Sylhet Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Abdul Momin gave the order after holding a hearing on Sunday.
Police Bureau of Investi-gation (PBI) Superintendent of Police (SP) Md Khaledu-zzaman confirmed the matter.
He said the investigation is at the final stages. PBI is working on to submit a flawless probe report.
Public Prosecutor (PP) Advocate Nowshad Ahmed Chowdury said as Rayhan
murder was a sensational case, they are making sure there was not any loopholes in the investigation.
According to sources, police are yet to arrest journalist Abdullah Al Noman, who along with Sub Inspector (SI) Hasan Ali destroyed evidence in the case.
So far, SI Hasan Ali and five other policemen, including SI Akbar, have been arrested in connection to this case.
