Two cases have been filed against Rasel-bin-Sattar who was arrested on charge of circulating the so-called audiovisual message of al-Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri against Bangladesh on the Internet.Director (media and legal wing) at the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) headquarters Wing Commander Habibur Rahman said Rab deputy assistant director Kamal Hossain filed the cases-one on sedition charge and the other under the Information and Communication Technology Act- with Tangail Model Police Station on Wednesday morning.Meanwhile, a court in Tangail on the day placed Rasel on a 10-day remand in the case filed under the ICT Act.Contacted, Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Tangail Model Police Station, said the court passed the remand order when they produced him before it seeking remand in the case.On Tuesday, Rab members arrested Rasel-bin-Sattar, 21, a final year student of Tangail Textile Institute, from Majhipara in Sadar upazila of the district on charge of spreading the message of the al-Qaeda head on the Internet.The audiovisual message, believed to be of al-Qaeda head Ayman al-Zawahiri, called upon Bangladeshi Muslims to join jihad against the western countries. The unconfirmed message was released by the Jihadology.net.
