Rasel elected Mayor unopposed of Bhangura Municipality

Awami League’s candidate Md Golam Hasnain Rasel has been elected unopposed as Mayor of Bhangura Municipality of Pabna. Returning Officer has issued a public notice on Wednesday (30 December) announcing Rashel as Mayor.
 This is his second term. He submitted his nomination papers for the post of Mayor as a candidate Awami League. On the other hand, BNP’s Abdul Kader submitted his nomination papers as the only opponent candidate. But during the scrutiny the Returning Officer canceled Kader’s nomination paper.
As a result, he appealed to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Pabna. After a hearing at DC Office the decision of the Returning Officer was upheld and the verdict of the appeal was announced on Sunday (27 December). As a result, there is no other candidate for the post of Mayor for Bhangura Municipality election. The Returning Officer issued a public notice in this regard on Wednesday.
Syed Ashrafuzzaman, Returning Officer and Bhangura Upazila Nirbahi Officer said the nomination paper of one of the two mayoral candidates has been canceled. Therefore, In addition to issuing a public notice announcing Golam Hasnain Rasel as the Mayor has been completed and sent to the Election Commission to publish a gazette.
