A Chittagong court on Monday awarded double lifetime imprisonment to a man on two separate charges of abducting and raping a child at Satkania upazila of the district in 2012.
The judge Mohammad Rezaul Karim of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal- 1 sentenced Abul Hossain alias Abul Kashem to twice lifetime imprisonment for abduction and rape. The court also fined him TK one lakh, court sources said. The prosecution story is, in brief, that the convict kidnapped the victim, a class five girl student of a local Madrasah while she was returning.
