Rape-attempt survivor pushed off rooftop in Narayanganj

After reportedly failing to rape a teenage girl, two youths tried to kill her by pushing her off the roof of a three-storey building in Narayanganj.
The incident occurred at the Bagdobaria village under Bandar upazila of the district at around 2am on Saturday. The survivor is now undergoing treatment at the capital’s National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitations (NITOR).
Confirming the matter to media, Bandar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Fakhruddin Bhuiyan said: “A case has been filed by the victim’s elder sister.” Accused Apu, 22, and Rubel, 25, have been on the run since the incident.
The 15-year-old victim broke one of her legs, hands and also sustained injuries on her head after she was pushed off the roof of the building.
According to the police and case dockets, the victim on October 14 came to her sister’s place in Bagdobaria village.
Apu, who is a tenant at the same building as the survivor’s elder sister, and Rubel, a local departmental shop owner, had been harassing the 15-year-old girl for quite some time.
