Local people rounded up one CNG driver red handed while trying to rape a young female physicians in Chittagong on Thursday night. The incident occurred at Forest gate area under Panchalaish thana .
Locals handed over CNG driver Md. Jamshed to police instantly. While contacted police sub-inspector Nuruzzaman told that 26 years old young physician of a private hospital hired a CNG taxi from GEC crossing aimed at reaching her residence in Kunjuchaya residential area under Baizid thana but due to heavy traffic jam, the CNG driver diverted his tax through the Forest hill road and after reaching a remote hill area , CNG driver forcibly tried to rape her .
Following the hue and cry of the physician, the night guard of the forest hill and the locals rushed to the spot and rescued her.
Local people handed over the driver to police instantly and a rape case also registered before the Panchalaish thana by the victim, sources said.
