DB police of Chittagong arrest 5 kidnappers for alleged abduction of one hundi(money launderer) trader named Abu Ahmed with realisation of huge ransom. DB police in vigorous drive against the abductors arrested 5 members of the abducting group along with cash money and some documents.
Police sources said police conducted raid in different areas of Chittagong and Dhaka then managed to apprehend these gang members on Thursday night. Police was unable to arrest the mastermind of the kidnapping.
The detained abducting members are- Abdur Rahim, Md. shahidullah, Md.Mohsin, Md. Hamid Hasan and Didarul Alam. Sources said hundi trader was kidnapped on August 3 last from Panchalaish hilly area while came out from his residence.
He was kidnapped on gun point and took him away in a microbus at the remote hill areas of Hathazari charia area. Abu Ahmed was released after two days of abduction after paying huge amount of ransom , sources said.
The victim is running a perfume, mobile phone shop at Reazuddin Bazar in city since long and involved with the money laundering business. The mastermind of the kidnapping Nuruddin now remains absconding, police sources said.
