Entertainment Report :Noted film actress Rani Sarkar is going to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award under the National Film Award on May 11 from the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Getting this award not only Rani Sarkar but also her family and people of Satkhira are very much excited. She is grateful to the Prime Minister to honour her at the national level.While sharing her feelings in this regard Rani Sarkar told this correspondent, “I am small person. After knowing the news I have no pain and suffering. I am really grateful to our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to give me the highest honour in the country’s film arena. In fact, I have no word to say grateful to our Prime Minister in this regard. If I did any mistake please forgive me.”It may be mentioned that the Prime Minister gave Tk 20 lakh to Rani Sarkar for two times for her treatment purposes. Rani Sarkar was born at Sonatola village in Satkhira. In 1958, she first acted in A J Kardar directed a movie. Later she worked in Ehtesham’s movie Chanda. In that movie, she acted in role of heroine Shabnam’s mother. Rani Sarkar then worked in 300 movies including Talash, Bondhon, Sangam, Ish Dharti Paar, Payse, Keyse Kahu, Ajan, Kacher Deyal, Kanch Kata Hirey, Behula, Anwara, Chhadmabeshi, Bhawal Sonnyashi, Titash Ekti Nodir Naam, Chandranath, Shuvoda, Devdas, among others.
