Rangpur region is being added to the marine sector with the official inauguration of Bangladesh Marine Academy, Rangpur. After the initiative of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, there was no significant development in the naval sector, but the development-friendly Prime
Minister established four Marine Academies in the country, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina believes in equal development. Though Rangpur is not riverine, she has established Marine Academy in Pirganj Upazila of Rangpur with a view to developing Rangpur.
Development is taking place in every district and upazila of Rangpur division. We must be united in maintaining the continuity of this development. State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, MP, made the remarks at a meeting and exchange of views at the Bangladesh Marine Academy Rangpur on Tuesday (February 23).
Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Shipping and Marine Academy Rangpur Project Director Rafiq Ahmed Siddiqui, Rangpur Deputy Commissioner Asib Ahsan, Pirganj Municipality Mayor Tajimul Islam Shamim,pwd seAbdul Goffar , and others spoke on the occasion.
To be noted that Bangladesh Marine Academy Rangpur is scheduled to be officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on March 10, 2021.
