The two-day “Rangpur Group Nababarsho Cup Golf Tournament- 1423” ended through a colourful ceremony on the premises of Rangpur Golf Club in Rangpur Cantonment here on Saturday.
More than 100 contestants of different Golf Clubs from all over the country participated in the male, female, junior and sub-junior groups of the tournament sponsored by Rangpur Group, said a press release.
Rangpur Area Commander, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 66 Infantry Division and President of Rangpur Golf Club Major General Md Masud Razzaque attended the inaugural and concluding ceremonies as the chief guest.
The final rounds of the tournament were held at the Golf Ground of Rangpur Cantonment on today followed by the prize-giving ceremony.
In the Male Group, golfer Dr Md Zabed Akhter secured the first position while golfer Brigadier General Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah, hdmc, psc, won the best gross award.
Golfer Major General Md Masud Razzaque won the second best gross award while golfer Brigadier General ABM Shefaul Kabir became the runner up. Golfer Colonel Kazi Shamim Farhad became the second runner up while golfer Enamul Haque Sohel won the third best gross award.
Golfer Major General (Retd) AMSA Amin won the nearest to pin award, golfer Major Md Harun Ar Rashid secured the maxim par award while golfer Lieutenant Colonel Shah Zulfiquer Ali won award for making the longest drive.
In Female Group, golfer Mrs Shahida Fazal became the winner while golfer Nasrine Haque Bobby was awarded for becoming the best gross.
Sumaiya Haque Subah secured the first position while Fida become the runner up in Junior Group.
Rehan secured the first position and Rahal became the runner up in the Sub-Junior Group.
President of Rangpur Golf Club Major General Masud Razzaque attended the colourful prize distribution ceremony and distributed awards among the winners. Managing Director of Rangpur Group Md Nazmul Ahsan Sarker, its Deputy Managing Director Ashraful Alam Al Amin, Director Major (Retd) Md Nasim Uddin, officials of Rangpur Golf Club and local journalists attended the ceremony. The prize-giving ceremony was followed by a colourful cultural function where music, songs and dances were presented by the local artistes.
