National Cricket League: Rangpur dominate on Nasir’s double ton

National discard all-rounder Nasir Hossain struck a magnificent double century as his team Rangpur Division have taken total domination on the third day of Tier-2 four-day National Cricket League held on Thursday at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet.
The overnight batsman Nasir, the architect of Rangpur Division’s innings, played an excellent knock of 201 off 343 runs laced with 24 boundaries and three over boundaries before he was caught by Jaker Al off Abu Jayed delivery.
His double ton must be a reminder for national selectors that they were not justified in leaving him behind from New Zealand tour. He was quite successful in BPL T20 too.
After Rangpur Division resumed their first innings on the third day (Thursday) at overnight score of 175 for 5 and finally declared their first innings close at 398 for 9, in reply to a Sylhet Division’s first innings total of 272.
Abu Jayed was the pick of Sylhet bowler as he finished the day with five for 112 while Khaled Ahmed supported him with four wickets conceding 89 runs.
In reply, Sylhet Division started their second innings not a in a comfortable mood as they were staggering at 44 for 3 at stumps, still trailing by 82 runs with seven wickets in hand.
Imtiaz Hossan and Alok Kapali were on the crease with 20 and 11 runs as the stumps were drawn for the day.
Sajedul Islam, Alauddin Babu and M addam all shared one wicket each for Rangpur Division.
