Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) distributed blankets among 300 cold-hit poor people at RCCI Public School and College ground here yesterday (Friday) afternoon.
President of RCCI Alhaj Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu and its Senior Vice-president Moztoba Hossain Ripan distributed the blankets under the financial assistances of RCCI among the distressed people of all ages, including elderly men, women and children.
Director of RCCI and Convener of its Relief and Award Giving Management Sub-committee Rabi Somani presided over the blanket distribution ceremony.
RCCI Directors Shah Mohammad Selim, Mozammel Haque Dambel, Debobrato Sarker Ranju, Fazlul Haque, Manjur Ahmed Azad, Alhaj Emdadul Hossain, Mograb Ali, Mamunur Rashid, member of relief sub-committee Dipendra Nath Sharma were present.
Principal of RCCI School and College Professor KM Hasinur Rahman, RCCI Secretary Yunus Pramanik, teachers of the educational institution and RCCI officials also attended.
In his speech, the RCCI President asked affluent people of the society to stand by the cold-affected poorer section of people in mitigating their sufferings and miseries being caused by the cold wave sweeping the region in recent weeks.
