Rangamati: District Mohila Awami League vice-president Jharna Khisha was hacked in an attack at her house near Rajbon Bihar area of the district town early Thursday.
Local sources said Jharna Khisha addressed a rally on Wednesday. Later, some miscreants threatened her over the issue. A gang of armed criminals swooped on the AL leader’s house around 1am and hacked Jharna Khisha, leaving her seriously wounded. One of the hands of Jharna Khisha has been broken. They also injured her husband and son.
Jharna is now undergoing treatment at Rangamati General Hospital. District unit Mohila AL leader Firoza Begum Chinu MP alleged that Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity carried out the attack.
