Ramgarh papaya garden destroyed in enmity

In Ramgarh, Khagrachhari, about 1,500 fruit papaya, malt and mango trees in a farmer’s 10-acre orchard have been cut down by miscreants due to previous hostilities.
The incident took place at Haji Abdur Rahim Saudagar’s garden in Mahbubnagar area of the upazila on Tuesday (August 24) at around 3 am.
He has claimed that he has lost about 10 lakh tk. Affected farmer Abdur Rahim lodged a written complaint with Ramgarh Police Station on Wednesday (August 25). Police are investigating the allegations.
Abdur Rahim said he has been gardening various crops and vegetables on his 10 acres of land for a long time. Last four months ago, he planted about one and a half thousand papaya saplings on the land.
For a long time, his neighbor Monir Hossain has been trying to occupy the land in various ways. He alleged that Monir Hossain, Hasan Shant, Sufian and 6-7 others had cut down all the trees in his garden for the purpose of occupying the land.
He alleged that he had cut down trees in his garden more than once before the incident on Tuesday and caused loss of millions of rupees.
