Noted drama personality and play director Ramendu Majumdar directed drama titled Pohale Shorbori is set to stage today. It is the 47th production
of theatre group, Natyadal. Surendra Burma wrote main story of this drama. Translated by Angshuman Bhowmik, Tropa Majumdar gave joint direction
of the play along with her father Ramendu Majumdar. First show
of the drama will be held at 5:30pm
at the main auditorium of National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the capital’s Segunbagicha area. Later, at 7:30pm, same drama
will be presented by other actors. This drama will be staged on July 1 and 2 at same venue.
Ramendu Majumdar said under his direction, Mahmuda Akhter Lita, Samia Mohsin, Nure Khoda Mashuk Siddik, Tropa Majumdar, Mushfiqur Rahman, Tanvir Hossain Sadmani, Tanjum Ara Polli and Robin Boshak will perform in first show of the drama Pohale Shorbori at 5:30pm on Friday. Later, at 7:30pm, Syed Apon Ahsan, Tanveen Sweety, Gulshan Ara Munni, Shekanul Islam Shahi, Joardar Saif, Samirul Ahsan and Rashedur Rahman will perform with same drama.
While talking about the drama, Ramendu Majumdar said, “Before corona pandemic, this drama was scheduled to stage. Later its preparation stopped due to pandemic. We have prepared two actors for each character of the drama. As a result, maximum number of actors can get the opportunity to perform in this drama and if due to absence of any actor causing sickness or other problems the drama can be run on the stage. We consider this matter in our minds before staging this play.” He also said that Tropa Majumdar gave maximum effort for giving direction. Ferdousi Majumdar was in costume design, Tanveer Alam Swajeeb gives direction of background music and Gulshan Ara Munni is in production coordination of the drama.”
