Noted cultural personality, RamenduMajumdar received this year’s Gandhi Memorial Peace Prize introduced by India’s Gandhi Peace Foundation. The prize was given in a function organised by the West Bengal branch of the Foundation in association with The Times of India on October 10 in Naihati.
Javed Ahmed Khan, Disaster Management and Civil Defence Minister of West Bengal was the Chief Guest. Reputed mime artist Bidyanath Chakraborty was also honoured with the prize.
