Raman Lamba & Daulat-uz-Zaman T20 begins today

The 7th Raman Lamba and Daulat-uz-Zaman T20 Cricket Tournament begins today at Residential Model School & College Ground in the city’s Mohammadpur.
Raman Lamba was an Indian cricketer who played in 4 Test matches and 32 One Day International matches. He died in 1998, three days after a ball hit him in his head while he was fielding in a match of Dhaka Metropolis Cricket League between Abahani Club Limited and Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited.
Sheikh Daulat-uz-Zaman was a Bangladeshi National Cricketer. He played for Bangladesh in ICC Trophy in 1979. He played for Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club for a long time. He was the coach of Victoria Sporting Club and while in filed he had massive heart attack and died in ground in the year of 2002.
To remember them, this T20 Cricket Tournament started in 2013 at Jahangirnagar University Ground.
A total of 12 teams splitting into two groups will take part in the tournament. The Top two teams from each group will get tickets of the semi-finals.
The participating teams are: Bangladesh Lawyers Cricket Club, Bangladesh Medical College Cricket team. Sri lankan Cricket Club, Tex Style BD Ltd, Cantonment Sporting Club, Haque Brothers, Bengal Taj, R.S.A. Cricket Club, Apex Gladiators, Virtual Tigers, Dhaka Tigers, SST Cricket Club.
Most of the former national cricketers will take part in this tournament including cricketers of corporate houses and commercial offices.
