Attacking VC's residence: Rakib sent to jail

A Dhaka court sent Rakibul Hasan alias Rakib to jail in a case filed over the attack on the residence of Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor during the quota reform movement.
Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Nurunnahar Yeasmin passed the order on Friday.
Earlier, DB police ASP Fazlul Haque,
Investigation Officer in the case produced the accused before the court after four days remand.
Earlier on April 29, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) DB (south) arrested four people – M Rakibul Hasan alias Rakib, M Masud Alam alias Masud, M Ali Hossain Sheikh alias Ali, and Abu Sayeed Fazle Rabbi alias Siam from Changkharpul area in the capital.
On April 9, miscreants broke the main entrance of the VC’s residence and ransacked several rooms and furniture. They also set fire to two vehicles parked inside the VC residence.
Later, following the incident, Dhaka University’s senior security officer SM Kamrul Ahsan filed a case on April 10.
