Mollah Abdullah Al-Rakib beat IM Kathmale Sameer of India and shared the third position along with other 21 players after the 4th round games in LIC 2nd International Grandmasters Chess Tournament now being held in Kolkata, West Bengal, India.
GM Ziaur Rahman of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited & FM Debaraj Chaterjee earned 2.5 points each, GM Enamul Hossain Razib of Bangladesh Navy and FM Mohammed Abdul Malek of Titas Club earned 1.5 points apeice and WIM Rani Hamid, CM Sohel Chowdhury of Leonine Chess, Shafiq Ahmed of Titas Club, M Jamal Uddin of Pritam-Prism of Narayanganj and Dewan Shahidul Amin Tipu of Sonali Bank Sports & Recreation Club earned 1 point each.
In the 4th round games, held on Thursday last, Rakib beat IM Kathmale Sameer of India, Debaraj drew with GM Saptarshi Roy Chowdhury, Zia beat Harikrishnan, Razib drew with Malek, Sohel drew with Rani Hamid, Shafiq beat Arpita Mukharjee, Jamal beat Tejaswini Sagar of India and Tipu lost to Sauravh Khherdekar of India.
