Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) is going to approve the readymade garment (RMG) factories established without proper procedures.
The Dhaka City’s development agency will form a team of specialists which will inspect and approve these factories, Public Works Minister Mosharraf Hossain said on Tuesday at a programme of Bangladesh Garment Exporters and Manufacturers Association (BGMEA).
“Many factories are not within the DAP-designated industrial area, but they cannot be shut down all of a sudden,” the minister explained.
“DAP’s deadline was 2015. A committee has already been formed to review the plan,” he said.
The Detailed Area Plan, or DAP, is a master plan for structural development of the capital.
