A septuagenarian woman was burned to death and three people were injured as a fire broke out at a house at Koyamajampur village in Durgapur upazila recently.
The deceased was identified as Labanya Prova, 70, wife of late Niranjan Kumar Mandal of the village.
Sub-inspector Kamruzzaman of Durgapur Police Station said the fire erupted around 12am in the house.
All inmates of the house except Labanya managed to come out the burning house, the SI added.
Later, family members recovered the charred body of the elderly woman from her room after dousing the flame.
Three other members of the family also sustained burn injuries.
