Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested the councillor of Godagari Municipality in Rajshahi along with heroin worth Tk 1 crore from Mohishalbari area on Friday.
The arrestee Mofazzol Hossain alias Mofa, 57, councillor of Godagari Municipality was held at 8 am, said a press release of RAB-5.
RAB men held Mofa during a drive conducted acting on a tip off in Mohishalbari area. A case was filed against the councillor with Godagari police station under the Narcotics Control Act.
Around 1.33 kg heroin which would worth approximately Tk 1.30 crore was seized from his possession.
