Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Thursday predicted rain, thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind at a few places across the country in the next 24 hours commencing 9 am.
“The rain and thunder showers may occur in some places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Sylhet and Dhaka divisions and at one or two places over Khulna, Barishal & Chattogram divisions with hails at isolated places,” said a Met office bulletin.
Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions and the regions of Sitakunda, Rangamati, Noakhali, Feni, Moulvibazar, Rajshahi & Pabna and it may abate, it said.
About the synoptic situation, the Met office said a trough of westerly low lies over West Bengal and adjoining area, extending up to North Bay.
Day temperature may fall by (1-3)°C and night temperature may fall slightly over the country, BMD said.
