The first three matches of the ongoing Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier League (DPL) Super League were marred by rain. On this day, the match between Prime Doleshwar and Gazi Group Cricketers was abandoned and they shared the points.
However, the match between Prime Bank Cricket Club vs. Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club and Abahani Limited vs. Mohammedan Sporting Club has been postponed. These two matches will be held on the new schedule.
Prime Doleshwar and Gazi Group Cricketers met in the first match of the day at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur. Doleshwar was set to bat after losing the toss, and then it started drizzling.
Immediately the field was covered with a cover. Two teams were waiting to enter the field, but the rain did not stop. As a result, at 11:55 in the morning, the umpire declared the match abandoned and shared the points between the two teams.
On the other hand, Partex Sporting Club and Legends of Rupganj faced in the first match of the relegation league at BKSP ground in Savar. Although a toss was made in that match, not a single ball was rolled on the field. As a result, according to the rules, if not a single ball is rolled in a match, then the match can be arranged at a suitable time.
The two matches between Prime Bank Cricket Club-Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club and Abahani Limited-Mohammedan Sporting Club also fell under that rule. The toss did not take place due to rain. As a result, the umpires were forced to postpone both the matches at 3.40 pm.
