Bangladesh Railway (BR) will begin advance ticket sale for the homebound passengers from June 22 on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Fitr. The pre-Eid advance ticket sale will begin from Dhaka and Chittagong stations under special arrangement at around 8am and the railway officials will supervise the ticket selling activities.
Railway sources said tickets for travelling on July 1 would be sold on June 22 from two stations. Besides, tickets for July 2 will be sold on June 23, tickets for July 3 to be sold on June 24, tickets for July 4 to be available on June 25 and tickets for July 5 to be sold on June 26.
“Bangladesh Railway already has taken all necessary steps to begin advance ticket sale of the railway. Arrangements of all-time vigilance with the cooperation of the law-enforcement agencies for preventing ticket black marketing are underway.” said a Railway official. Even the mobile court drive also would be carried out with the cooperation of the deputy commissioners, said the official. Simultaneously, the railway department also will begin advance return ticket sale under special arrangement from Rajshahi, Khulna, Rangpur, Dinajpur and Lalmonirhat stations for the passengers. A passenger will get maximum four tickets at a time.
