Raids in 2 `militant dens` in Savar

Law enforcers began raids in two separate multi-storied buildings suspecting militant hideouts at Ganda in Savar, outskirts of the capital on Friday evening.
Mohibul Islam Khan, Deputy Commissioner of the Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, said
“A team of Police cordoned off two multi-storied building at Ganda around 7:00pm.”
We started the raid around 8:00pm and the operation drive will continue to nab the suspected militants, the CTTC official said.
ASM Abu Sayeed, Officer-in-Charge of Detective Branch (DB-North) of Dhaka district, said, “The first raid began on the ground floor of a five-storey building. After entering the ground floor of the building no militant or any explosives were found there.”  
The second raid began in another nearby six-storey building. The raid is still continuing, he said.
The law enforcers suspect existence of explosive materials in the six-story building and advised everyone to maintain a safe distance, the DB official said.
