Fed Cup Football: Rahmatganj in final

Rahmatganj MFS reached the final of the Bashundhara Group Federation Cup Football beating Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited by 2-1 goals in the first semi-final at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city’s Kamalapur on Thursday.
Rajib Hossain of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited put his team ahead in the fifth minute of the clash. Rajib got the ball on his way from a header of his teammate Australian Aaron John. John got the ball from a flag-kick of his teammate Amamgir.
Rahmatganj custodian Tushar showed a spectacular performance and saved his team from danger thwarted some attacks of the black-and-white outfit booters.
Rahmatganj MFS got the free-kick in the 54th minute but Shahriar Bappi failed to convert that opportunity.
In the 67th minute of the game, Mohammedan became a ten-man team. Mohammedan’s Macedonian recruit Jasmin Mecinovic was showed second yellow card. Thus it turned into a red card and Jasmin left the field.
Rahmatganj’s Ghanaian forward Philip Adjah leveled the margin (1-1) by a right-footer in the 79th minute of the game.
Rahmatganj’s Nigerian Forward Sunday Chizoba scored the match-winning goal by a left-footer using a right-side cross of his teammate Philip just at the dying moment.
Earlier, Mohammedan played the final of the Federation Cup Football in the year of 2009.
