The new committee of Saarc Environment Journalists Forum (SEJF) has been formed for the next two years with eminent journalist and storywriter Rahat Khan as president, special correspondent of The News Today A B Razzak as secretary general and senior repoter of Manabjamin Kazi Shohag as organizing secretary.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the forum at the National Press Club on Sunday. The meeting was presided over by AB Razzak, founder of the forum, while other members were present. The meeting decided to publish a souvenir and giving media award on environment-related reports on June 5. A preparatory committee has also been formed.
Other executives of the newly formed committee are – Abdul Bari (Ittefaq) and Nazmul Haq Sircar (Ajker Khabar), vice presidents; Sagar Biswas (New Nation), joint secretary general; Gazi Shahnewaz (JaiJaiDin), finance secretary; Syed Ahmed (Jugantor), information and research secretary; Sakila Parvin (News Garden), women affairs secretary; Md Shahjahan Molla (Janakantha), international affairs secretary; Mizan Rahman (Alokito Bangladesh), publication secretary; and Syed Golam Kibria (Daily News Star), office secretary. The executive committee members are – Nasir Uddin Chowdhury (Daily Purbodesh), A K Hiru (Boishakhi TV) and Merina Lovely (Channel-i).
