The charge of the investigation into three cases filed against Jubo Mohila League leader Shamima Nur Papiya has been handed over to Rapid Action Battalion on Tuesday.
RAB has been tasked to carry into the investigation Papiya’s three cases. The cases have been transferred from Detective Branch (DB) of police, said Deputy Director of the Legal and Media Wing, Major Hussein Raisul Azam Mani.
RAB could interrogate Papiya cases for the sake of investigation with permission from the court, the elite force official said.
RAB arrested Papiya and her husband Mofizur Rahman Sumon from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on February 22.
Two cases under arms and narcotics acts were filed against them with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station while another one was lodged with Bimanbandar Police Station for possessing fake currencies.
Papiya was placed on a 15-day remand in three separate cases on February 24.
