RAB raids militant hideout in Ctg, 3 held

RAB-7 forces in the port city has detained three suspected militants after laying siege to a hideout yesterday morning.
The elite forces unit caught the men around 10am after cordoning off the two-storey building at Colonel Haat for several hours on Thursday morning.
The suspects did not heed when asked to come out, but instead they started a fire, a RAB-7 official said.
A bomb disposal team entered the house as RAB believes there may be explosives inside. The operation was launched following the interrogation of two suspects captured with weapons at the port city’s AK Khan area, said RAB media wing director Mufti Mahmud Khan.
“The militants started a fire to destroy their own electronic devices.”
RAB officer Sohel Mahmud sources said they rounded up two suspected militants from AK Khan gate area under Akbarshah thana on Wednesday night and following the interrogations, they confessed the location of the hideout, a portal news agency sources said.
