Rapid Action Battalion-RAB-2 has arrested two main accused in connection with the murder of a local contractor, Sirajul Islam Siru, 45, at Dhaka Udyan in the capital’s Mohammadpur on Wednesday night.
The arrestees are Sujan Mia (32) and Sajib Hossain alias Rubel (21).
Confirming the matter to The New Nation on Thursday night Lt Col
Ashik Billah, director (Legal and Media Wing) of RAB said they were apprehended from Balur Math area near Basila Three Road junction in Mohammadpur.
Sirajul Islam Siru has been slaughtered to death at Akota Housing in Mohammadpur on October 3. The deceased was a local contractor and was involved in politics.
“During the interrogation, the arrested accused said that Sujan and Sajib alias Rubel hacked to death Siru, along with their accomplices,” The RAB official said.
In The interrogation we got important information about the other accused involved in the murder. Attempts are being made to catch the other accused by checking and sorting all this information.
