BSS, Dhaka :
Managing director and chief editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Abul Kalam Azad said news emanates from the quest for knowledge and therefore the information provided has to be objective.
Referring to the proliferation of cyber technology, he said, “It is a new technology that can help reach news within a very short span of time to all corners of the world”.
The BSS chief editor said this on Thursday while speaking as the chief guest at the concluding session of the three-day training course on online journalism organized by the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) for journalists of Sylhet at the PIB’s seminar room.
Chairman of PIB Habibur Rahman Milon chaired the session while president of Dhaka Union of Journalists Altaf Mahmud attended the programme as special guest.
Altaf Mahmud said that because of its global reach, online journalists have to be extra-cautious about the quality of the news that they upload.
Milon in his address said that three days was not enough to train people adequately but if there is some impact of the course then PIB would consider its program a success.
