The Mother Queen of Bhutan, Tshering Pem Wangchuck, will arrive in Dhaka today (Monday) on a five-day visit to Bangladesh, a Foreign Office statement said tonight.
She will be accompanied by Princess Chimi Yangzom Wangchuck, Vice President of Youth Development Fund (YDF). The delegation will also include a five-member team from the YDF.
The Queen Mother is also the President of the YDF,
a voluntary organization that manages and provides resources to various youth development projects in Bhutan.
During the tour, the Queen Mother will visit the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum. She will pay a courtesy call on the Prime Minister.
She will also visit one of BRAC’s regional offices to see BRAC programmes. Her visit will also include the Beximco Industrial Park to see textiles, garments and ceramic enterprises; the National Museum and other places of interest.
The Queen will depart for Bhutan on March 18.
