The students of Pabna University of Science and Technology’s (PUST) are demonstrating to realize their one-point demand, that is removal of the university’s vice-chancellor, proctor and students’ advisor.
On Tuesday, the students placed their 12-point demand to the university administration seeking proper investigation into the viral audio clip that a job seeker wanted that his bribe money should be returned.
They wanted to sit with the university authorities on Tuesday about materialization of the demands, but didn’t get proper response from them. But the authorities did not take any measure in this regard. Finally they programmed their one and only one demand-the resignation of the VC, proctor and student advisor, they alleged.
On Wednesday they besieged the administration building and also locked the main gate of the university for half an hour.
The protesting students said that they started the movement on Wednesday to fulfill their 12-point demand.
The students of the university started their protest on Wednesday against show-cause notices issued to three teachers for “raising voice against corruption and irregularities committed by the authorities.”
