At least three persons received burn injuries in a fire that broke out at a shoe factory in the city’s Bangshal area early Thursday.
The injured are: Al Amin, 20, Osman, 25, and Abdus Samad, 31 and were admitted to the Burn Unit of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), said Bachchu Mia, Sub-Inspector and In-Charge of the DMCH Police Outpost.
They were working with seven other workers at the shoe factory in Alu Bazar of Bangshal when the fire broke out from a candle around 2:00am, the police official said.
Locals put out the blaze and sent them to DMCH. However, the other workers were unhurt.
Al Amin, Osman and Samad were rushed to the hospital with 90 percent, 42 percent and 30 percent burn injuries respectively, the SI said after quoting the doctors.
