Teachers, students and different political organisations of Rajshahi University (RU) demanded exemplary punishment to the attackers on two BCL leaders on Tusday.
Islami Chhatra Shibir activists allegedly severed the ankle of BCL leader Abdullah Al Masud, assistant secretary and tendons of both hands and legs of Togor Mohammad Saleh, student scholarship affairs secretary of RU unit BCL on Tuesday.
The victims Masud and Saleh are second year students of history and folklore departments and also resident of Madar Bux hall.
Teachers-students of folklore and history department, Progressives student alliance and BCL RU unit staged demonstration separately on the campus demanding punishment of the attackers of Masud and Saleh.
Over two hundred teachers and students of folklore and history department formed a human chain in front of Ismail Hossain Siraji bhaban and central library on campus respectively at 10:00am to press home their demand.
Addressing, the speakers alleged that the university authority as well as police administration were totally failed to give security of teachers and students on the campus.
They urged to strengthen security on campus.
Meanwhile, over two hundred BCL leaders and activists brought out a protest procession on the campus at 11:00am protesting the brutal attack on their leaders.
