After 19 days in a row, the Covid-19 lockdown has been relaxed on Wednesday. All public transports are operating at full capacity across the country. Financial institutions including government and private offices have reopened since morning. Shopping malls and shops have also reopened.

Earlier, the government re-enforced the strict restriction from July 23 after an eight-day pause marking the Eid-ul-Azha since the government imposed the nationwide strict restriction from July 1 for a week, which was later extended for another week till July 14.

On August 8, however, the Cabinet Division issued a notification easing the ongoing strict restriction, considering the overall condition of the country.

As per the notification, all the government, semi-government and non-government offices, autonomous bodies, banks and financial institutions will remain open from August 11 (today), following health safety guidelines and other rules issued by the government.
