Gonoshasthaya Kendra Founder and Freedom Fighter Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury asked the search committee to publish the names of proposed election commissioners publicly three days before submitting to the President.
“Revealed the proposed EC members name three days before submitting to the President so that the people can know it and have time and chances to say the information about those persons,” Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury said it while addressing a discussion meeting in Gonoshasthaya Nogor Hospital on Friday.
‘Desh Banchao Manush Banchao Andolon’ organised the discussions titled “Kashmir and the politics of South Asia”.
Dr. Zafrullah said, “If anyone says something over the situation of the country, he and his speeches labeled as anti-liberation war. The vested quarter wants to oppress
their opponents through such strategies.” The Gonoshasthaya Kendra Trustee said one of the ruling Awami League’s central leader alleged that he proposed eight person’s name to the search committee on behalf of the BNP which is totally false.
“I have proposed the names without consultancy with anyone, but the ruling party leader made the false statement,” he said.
Dr. Zafrullah said also that he had never been with the BNP, but the Awami League leader called him the party Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s Advisor which is also false.
The freedom fighter said that he wants to establish a people welfare and justice based government and a state instead of a autocratic one in the country.
“In this view, the first task has to be done by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to save the country from the gripes of Israel’s secrete agency Mossad and India’s agency RAW.”
He asked all to be united against India’s hegemony.
He urged the government to cancel Digital Security Act saying that everyone tighten their lips to say anything as they are panicked by the law.
He termed the BNP’s Khaleda Zia governments two action as wrong. One was conducting operation clean heart and the other was increasing medicines price after being influenced by one business person.
KM Rakibul Islam Ripon, President of the organisation presided over the function. Former Ambassador Shakib Ali, Barrister Major (Retd) Sarwar, Secretary General of Bhasani Parishad Sheikh Rafiqul Islam Bablu, General Secretary of Muslim League Kazi Abul Khair, Press Adviser of Gonoshasthaya Kendra Jahangir Alam Mintu and others were present.
