Members of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Power and Energy Ministry visited state- owned Eastern Refinery Ltd in Chittagong on Sunday. Chairman of the PSC Md Tajul Islam MP and member MA Latif MP among others were present during the visit.
The committee members visits process control room, refinery unit, quality control system, crude storage etc.
Later, the PSC members hold views exchange meeting with the members of the Officers association and CBA leaders there. The PSC chairman in his brief deliverations said the construction of ERL unit -2 is progressing fast which will go into productions by next three years.
He said after completion of unit -2, the production of the ERL will goup to 3 million tons per day. The PSC chairman asked the BPC chairman to resolve the demands of the CBA including risk allowance, and other allowances including wage hike.
Among others, BPC Chairman Mahmud Reza Khan, Additional Secretary of the concerned ministry Golam Mostafa, Managging Director of ERL Md. Emdadul Hoque and other senior officials of BPC were present in it, ERL sources said.
