UNB, Sylhet :
A human chain was held at the central Shahid Minar in Sylhet at 3 pm on Saturday to protest against the increase in public transport fares across the country.
Speakers at the event said that the decision to increase bus fare by 60 % was very unfair.
The government could have reduced the price of oil or maintained the previous fare by providing incentives in the transport sector.
The human chain was organised by Jaatri Odhikar Parishad.
Jyotish Majumder presided over the event.
