Projonmo Shishu Pathshala, a winged organization of Biddya Sagor Unmokto Pathagar observed Universal Children’s Rights Week 2014 with a befitting manner at Shamajik Bonobivhag near Comilla University (CoU) on Friday last.
Sanaul Hoque, the ADC (education) of Comilla District inaugurated the Children’s Day and Children’s Rights Week 2014. He put emphasis on a child-friendly environment ensuring children safety from exploitation and deprivation. The program launched with a coluorful ralley from Bangabondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall to Shamajik Bonobivhag.
The Speakers at the program said that, Children’s Day — a day dedicated to children — is observed as an event across the world to celebrate childhood and promote awareness about children’s welfare. Universal Children’s Day is not simply a day to celebrate children for who they are, but to bring awareness to children around the globe that have succumbed to violence in forms of abuse, exploitation and discrimination. They expected that Biddya Sagor Unmokto Pathagar would perform its duty to ensure quality education, morality, basic rights and so forth to the underprivileged children across the country. Moreover, they promised that they will request the concerned authorities to develop the Pathagar with all necessities.
To note, Biddya Sagor Unmokto Pathagar is working for the underprivileged children since 2005. Imam Hossen, a student of Marketing Department at Comilla University is the organizer of the Pathagar and the Pathshala. He along with some other students of Comilla University is voluntarily functioning the Pathagar free of costs. About 150 underprivileged children are undertaking thier education from this pathagar. The pathagar is now working in the 18 district . Imam Hossen expressed gratitude to Rotary Club of Comilla South, Hope 87, Bissobiddhaloy Chatra Songsod and many more organizations for their hearty co-operation.
Dr Ahsan Ullah, Students’ Advisor of Comilla University was the key-note speaker of the program. Dr GM Moniruzzaman, Prof. Faruk Ahmed, the Chartard President, Rotary Club of Comilla Victoria, Hayatun Nabi Mujumdar, the Chartard President, Rotary Club of Comilla South, Rtr. CP Tayub Choudhuri, Chair, Department of Marketing, Chittagong University and others were present at the program. Imam Hossen anchored the program and S.M Shuyeb Kibria presided over the program.
