A new project named “USAID SAPLING” was launched yesterday aiming to improve food security and nutrition, empower women, and build resilience in some of the poorest areas in the Chittagong Hill Tracts.
USAID in partnership with the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts inaugurated SAPLING, its new five-year Sustainable Agriculture and Production Linked to Improved Nutrition Status, Resilience, and Gender Equity project, in Bandarban district, implemented by Helen Keller International, according to a press release of the US embassy in Dhaka on Friday.
The project will bring together the government and international and local NGOs to work in partnership with individuals, communities, and traditional institutions to help the poor families to improve their circumstances and lift themselves out of poverty.
